Tech Talent South Partnership Proposal

Based on our initial October 6th meeting, we have put together the following proposal based on where we think a partnership may best align between Tech Talent South & Wake Forest Charlotte Center. These proposed tiers are meant to act as a starting point for discussion on the Tech Talent South partnership with Wake Forest. We’re excited and dedicated to finding the perfect, tailored fit and can customize these tiers further to fit both alumni and student needs as well as professional development needs within the organization.


Partnership Goal

Our goal with any joint partnership is to encourage and foster continued growth within companies, especially when it comes to tech and entrepreneurial growth. We strongly believe a TTS and Wake Forest Charlotte Center partnership could blossom into a strong community partnership that inspires passionate students and alumni from both of our networks to “Do Something BIG!”


Option 1 - Community Partnerships

The goal of this option is to provide various topics for Wake Forest to partner with Tech Talent South to bring technology and training opportunities to the general community.

Tier 1 Proposal - Sponsored Scholarships (8-Week Immersive Web Development Program - Code Immersion)

Total hours: 48 or 96 Class Hours (Plus Additional Office Hours)

Hours:

Part-time: Mondays & Wednesdays, 6 to 9pm (Office Hours from 5 to 6pm)

Full-time: Mondays through Thursdays, 8 to 11am (Office Hours from 11am to 12:30pm)

Cost:

  • Sponsor 1 scholarship at full tuition → $4,750 (Part Time) or $6,750 (Full Time)
  • Sponsor 2 scholarships at discount → 15% off bundle price
  • Sponsor 3 or more over next calendar year → 25% off bundle price

Tier 2 Proposal - Fully Sponsored Intro to Programming for Business People Program

Total hours: 9 Hours

Curriculum Highlights:

  • What is Programming?
  • Programming Exercise - programming minus the code
  • How the Web Works
  • Common Programming Languages
  • Programming Tools
  • Programming Concepts (variables, data types, loops, conditionals, iterators, classes and objects, etc.)
  • How a Web App works
  • Intro to Front-End Development
  • Infrastructure
  • Back-End Development
  • APIs

Hours: Monday evenings, 6 to 9pm (3 Consecutive Weeks, 3 Class Sessions Total)

Cost: $5,000 for Full Class Sponsorship (up to 15 participants)

Tier 3 Proposal - Fully Sponsored Immersive Web Development Program (Part Time Code Immersion) 8-Weeks, Evenings

Total Hours: 48 (Plus 16 Additional Office Hours)

Option 2 - In-House Programming (Events, Workshops, Training)

The goal of this topic is to provide various options and tiers of Tech Talent South led training. These training courses would be based off one of Tech Talent South’s current course offerings.

Tier 1 Proposal - Intro to Programming for Business

9 Class Hours (day-long workshop OR split into three 3-hour evening sessions)

  • What is Programming?
  • Programming Exercise - programming minus the code
  • How the Web Works
  • Common Programming Languages
  • Programming Tools
  • Programming Concepts (variables, data types, loops, conditionals, iterators, classes and objects, etc.)
  • How a Web App works
  • Intro to Front-End Development
  • Infrastructure
  • Back-End Development
  • APIs

Cost:

  • Standard Rate: $500 per head
  • Wake Forest Rate: $425 per head (Minimum 10 Participants)
  • Option to Purchase Curriculum After First Run:
    • Initial fee: $9,000
    • For each use after initial purchase (curriculum only): $1,500

Tier 2 Proposal - Pop Up Code Program

Total Hours: 16 Class Hours (2 Days Total; 8 Hours Per Day)

In this course, students will learn some of the fundamentals of building a website and web application. Students will first tackle the core building blocks of the web and build static websites using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. On top of that students will learn how to work with and operate a programming language, Ruby, and the insanely popular web application framework Rails. By using Ruby on Rails students will build dynamic, database backed web applications. Ideally, this program would be aimed towards Wake Forest students interested in building out their own ideas or those aiming to work at a small business or firm.

Cost:

  • Standard Rate: $750 per head
  • Wake Forest Rate: $600 per head (Minimum 10 Participants)
  • Option to Purchase Curriculum After First Run:
    • Initial fee: $12,000
    • For each use after initial purchase (curriculum only): $2,250

Option 3 - Custom Curriculum

The goal of this topic is to provide various options and tiers of Tech Talent South led training. These training courses would be available “in-house” for Wake Forest Charlotte Center and would feature a completely custom and dedicated curriculum set to the topic of Wake Forest's choosing.

Tier 1 Proposal - Custom Curriculum for Internal Team Members

Goals & Overview:

  • Expose Wake Forest employees to technical topics that would benefit students and/or staff members in the field of technology, development, and software.
  • Participants will build out a fully-functioning web application specific to a real-world Wake Forest need: i.e. Internal Jobs Board, HR Management Platform, etc.

Tier 2 Proposal - Custom Curriculum for Students and Alumni

Topics could include:

  • Intro to Web Design (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, UX, Wireframing)
  • Intro to Digital Marketing (Google Analytics, Social Media, Branding)
  • Wordpress Basics
  • Intro to Data Analytics

Tier 3 Proposal - Custom Program: Building Out a Tech-Savvy Company

Team members would be enrolled in a program mimicking our standard 8-week Code Immersion Program (See curriculum highlights from Topic 1, Tier 1) and our standard Startup Primer program.

  • Persona development
  • Product market-fit
  • Product management
  • HR/Legal for Startups
  • Fundraising and pitching

Cost for Custom Programs:

  • For a curriculum package of 24 hours:
    • $15,000 for curriculum
    • $18,000 for curriculum + TTS-led instruction
    • For each use after initial purchase (curriculum only): $2,500
  • For a curriculum package of 48 hours:
    • $21,000 for curriculum
    • $25,500 for curriculum + TTS-led instruction
    • For each use after initial purchase (curriculum only): $3,500
  • For a curriculum package of 96 hours:
    • $29,000 for curriculum
    • $36,000 for curriculum + TTS-led instruction
    • For each use after initial purchase (curriculum only): $5,000

**Bundle three or more tiers from any options above and receive a 10% discount on total service costs; bundle five or more and receive a 15% discount on total service costs.


In Addition...

In additional to any of the partnership packages highlighted above, Tech Talent South would love to work together to plan free events, workshops, and mixers between our two student communities that add value to the experience of both groups.

Example:Mentorship Mixer between TTS and Wake Forest alumni/students with startups/entrepreneurial aspirations.

Example:Partnership where X number of Wake Forest Charlotte Center students work on startup ideas generated at TTS and X number of TTS students work on building websites for Wake Forest students (i.e. starting their own firm, building a side business, creating a portfolio/virtual resume, etc.)
