Tech Talent South Partnership Proposal

Based on our initial September 30th meeting, we have put together the following proposal based on where we think a partnership may best align between Tech Talent South & Lowe’s. These proposed tiers are meant to act as a starting point for discussion on the Tech Talent South partnership with Lowe’s. We’re excited and dedicated to finding the perfect, tailored fit and can customize these tiers further to fit both alumni and student needs as well as professional development needs within the organization.

The goal of this topic is to provide various options and tiers of Tech Talent South led training. These training courses would be based off one of Tech Talent South’s current course offerings, and made available “in-house” for Lowe’s employees.

Tier 1 Proposal - Pop Up Code Program

Total Hours: 16 Class Hours (2 Days Total; 8 Hours Per Day)

In this course, students will learn the fundamentals of building a website and web application. Students will first tackle the core building blocks of the web and build static websites using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. On top of that students will learn how to work with and operate a programming language, Ruby, and the insanely popular web application framework Rails. By using Ruby on Rails students will build dynamic, database backed web applications. We believe the audience for this course includes Lowe's team members with BIG ideas -- ideally, those who are eager to brainstorm and give feedback for potential solutions and applications in business-related subjects.

Curriculum Highlights:

  • Day 1 - Static Website Building
    • HTML & CSS
    • Bootstrap
    • Intro to Ruby
  • Day 2 - Ruby on Rails
    • Ruby Part 2
    • Building a ToDo Web App

Cost:

  • Standard Rate: $750 per head
  • Lowe’s Rate: $600 per head (Minimum 10 Participants)
  • Option to Purchase Curriculum After First Run:
    • Initial fee: $12,000
    • For each use after initial purchase (curriculum only): $2,250

*To keep our curriculum current with industry standards and market trends it is subject to update fees as reflected above.

Tier 2 Proposal - Any Existing TTS Program Taught In-House

Sample of Available Programs:

  • Code Immersion (full-stack web application development in Ruby on Rails)
  • Javascript Application Development
  • iOS Development
  • Machine Learning for Business
  • Big Data Analytics
  • Intro to the Internet of Things

Cost: 20% off Standard Tuition Price

For example: JavaScript App Development - $4,250 per seat is standard, $3,400 is Lowe’s rate

Option 3 - Custom Curriculum

The goal of this topic is to provide various options and tiers of Tech Talent South led training. These training courses would be available “in-house” for Lowe’s employees and would feature a completely custom and dedicated curriculum set to the topic/stack of Lowe’s choosing.

Tier 2 Proposal - Custom Curriculum For Incubator-Style Program

    • For each use after initial purchase (curriculum only): $5,000

*To keep our curriculum current with industry standards and market trends it is subject to update fees as reflected above.

**Bundle three or more tiers from any options above and receive a 10% discount on total service costs; bundle five or more and receive a 15% discount on total service costs.

In Addition...

In addition to any of the partnership packages highlighted above, Tech Talent South would love to work together to plan events, workshops, and mixers between our two communities that add value to the experience of both groups.

Example:Mixer between TTS alumni and Lowe’s developers; could include speed-dating style mentorship/interviewing sessions. This gives Lowe’s access to potential future hires!

Example:Similar to our “Building Amazon Alexa Skills” workshop we have run in Charlotte and Raleigh, we could host an “Introduction to Iris” event to spotlight Lowe’s products and projects. (This will be spotlighted on our TTS-Charlotte Meetup page as well as all social media platforms).

Thank you for your consideration!

We look forward to discussing further and beginning a partnership with Lowe's!
